Sisters Set to Shine from Glasgow to the West End

Two talented sisters from Calderside Academy in Blantyre are preparing to light up some of the UK’s most iconic stages in what promises to be a show-stopping year.

Aimee Lennox, an S6 pupil and school captain, and her younger sister Millie Lennox, an S3 former pupil, are taking the performing world by storm. Millie secured a coveted place at the prestigious Dance School of Scotland last August — a remarkable achievement that recognises her exceptional dedication and talent.

Both sisters are proud members of the dynamic charity organisation Movies to Musicals , which gives young performers the extraordinary opportunity to share the stage with West End superstars in major venues.

The spotlight first falls on Saturday 8th March at Glasgow City Halls, where Aimee and Millie will perform alongside acclaimed West End stars Jenna Innes and Ryan Kopel  in what promises to be an unforgettable night of music, dance and theatrical magic.

Then the excitement reaches new heights as the cast heads south to London’s prestigious Cadogan Hall on 5th April, performing alongside Don Simpson, Jenna Innes and Jacob Fowler — a huge milestone for Scotland’s rising stars as they step onto a world-famous stage in the heart of the West End.

Ross Gunning, founder of Movies to Musicals, said:

“This year, as well as our Glasgow show in March, we are taking Scotland’s up-and-coming talent to the London West End. This is an amazing opportunity for our young people and a first for Movies to Musicals To do this, we needed support, and Gaspro and GP All Trades were only too happy to help.”

The ambitious trip has been made possible thanks to the generosity of sponsorships and  Gaspro and GP All Trades.

Gary Gilmour, company director, said:

“We are delighted to support and sponsor the girls journey and giving something back to the wider community. The support of gaspro and gp all trades  means the world to the girls, and going to London would not be possible without the support and sponsorship from our company and other business sponsorship. We are happy to help them achieve this incredible opportunity.”

For Aimee, the journey has been nothing short of incredible.

“Being part of Movies to Musicals has opened so many doors for us. Performing in these venues alongside West End stars is beyond anything we imagined. Going to London feels like a dream, and we’re so grateful to everyone who has supported us.”

Millie added:

“Getting into the Dance School of Scotland was amazing, but performing in the West End with Movies to Musicals is just on another level. We’ve worked so hard for this and can’t wait to step on that stage.”

Their proud parents Johan and Stephen Lennox said:

“Watching the girls grow in confidence and talent over the years has been so special. We are incredibly proud of everything they have achieved. The support from sponsors and the community means the world to our family.”
