Repairs have been completed at the Newhousemill Road Bridge much earlier than expected with the bridge now re-opened.
Work to repair the parapets following a recent vehicle accident had expected to last several weeks, but the bridge repairs have now been finished, with the vehicle bridge which connects High Blantyre to East Kilbride, reopening again this week.
The historic bridge nicknamed locally as the ‘Wee Bridge’ is notoriously the scene of frequent vehicle collisions due to its narrow width and in much need of improvement.
