Heavy rain has caused significant flooding on Hillhouse Road, obstructing the route to High Blantyre and affecting drivers and residents. This ongoing issue remains unresolved by South Lanarkshire Council, leaving many vehicles stranded and residents trapped in their homes. Urgent action from the Council is needed to address the problem.
Hillhouse Road (Eastbound) is undergoing evening closures this week for anti-skid surfacing, with completion expected soon. Additionally, on Friday 17 January, westbound access to Technology Avenue will close from 9:30 am to 3:30 pm for anti-skid installation, requiring diversions through Hillhouse Road and its roundabouts.
Roadworks are resuming in Lanarkshire post-festive season. Hillhouse Road (Eastbound) will be closed nightly from 9.00pm to 6.00am, January 13 to 15, for anti-skid installation. Diversions will be in effect, leading to increased traffic on surrounding roads during the work period.
