October Donations to Local Causes

October is finished, which means its time again to ‘tot up” how much Blantyre Telegraph has raised for local good causes in the last 4 weeks. Although no donations at all were received by the public (using the donate button on this page in case you didn’t know!), a whopping total of £178.02 was donated to the Telegraph by sister website, Blantyre Project.

With ourselves as the mechanism for choosing the good causes for October we chose  several causes over the last 4 weeks benefiting the WHOLE community.

Money raised has gone to Blantyre Library to replenish lending books and produce a brand new corner display for the public and supported local business Flowers to Go by buying a wreath to remember Dixon’s Memorial and also buying a large poppy wreath, on behalf of the whole community, ahead of remembrance.

The remaining cost went to renew the website hosting over at Blantyre Project for 2019 and to ensure it continues to be the best it can be, (an annual hosting charge that can’t be avoided)

You can see all donations we’ve made to local good causes, here in a visible, transparent manner. https://theblantyretelegraph.wordpress.com/raised/

This takes the total raised for 110 local Blantyre Causes by Blantyre Project and Blantyre Telegraph to a massive £19,494.38!! It REALLY has done so much good all over Blantyre over the last few years. I can’t believe that’s been accomplished by getting local history out to people and a few notable fundraisers and some donations from people reading this page. Thank you for all your continued support and especially to those people buying Blantyre Project books each year as gifts. Long may it continue.
