We were saddened to learn this week that the nursery playground equipment at High Blantyre Primary School has been targeted by vandals.
Sometime on the evening of Thursday 29th August, vandals illegally entered the closed, fenced nursery playground and smashed the playhouse windows. They then proceeded to wreak havoc in the playground, damaging the children’s play equipment.
The brainless idiots who did this have been reported to police. An investigation is underway.
A spokesperson for the school said, “We have lots of disappointed children.”
One parent told us, ” It’s so sad. People think it’s fun to damage equipment used by kids”
The untimely vandalism was highly devastating for the hard working staff as lots of effort had gone into buying and installing play equipment there. With a new term just started, there is a reliance on young nursery children being able to play outside safely.
We deplore mindless vandalism and especially this kind of despicable behaviour that affects the education, wellbeing and fun of young children. So this afternoon, we have pledged £100 to help with repairs or replacements and will hand our donation into the school office this week.
