We were deeply saddened to hear of the sudden, tragic passing of Blantyre woman, Christine MacLellan (Stewart). She slipped away earlier this week and was only 52.
Christine, a former pupil of High Blantyre Primary and Blantyre High School was brought up in High Blantyre, though moved away in later years, settling down with family. She was always very close to this town, travelling back often to see several family members.
Our thoughts go out to the MacLellan and Stewart families, and especially to Christine’s husband of 30 years, and their devastated grown up children. If there’s anything we can do for them, or they wish later to publish funeral details, they only need to get in touch.
Christine was a beautiful, strong and popular woman. Those who knew her will affirm she was always smiling, her kindness and thoughtfulness shining through at all times. She was a kind soul and a light to many people around her. The world is a dimmer place without her and her passing will be a shock to countless people both in Blantyre and beyond. She will be sincerely missed.
