Crossbasket Nursery at High Blantyre are proudly sponsoring Glasgow Children’s Hospital Charity, a charity that has always been so close to their hearts.
Nursery manager, Leann Lavery told us, “Recently we were reminded of just how much of an incredible job they do as two of our little ones have and will continue to attend the hospital for treatment.”
In April this year Fearne from our Busy Bees playroom and her family received heart-breaking news, Fearne was diagnosed with Leukemia, since then Fearne has been a total inspiration as she meets every milestone in her treatment and everyday being the most positive and happy little lady. Fearne is well and truly kicking cancers behind.
Our other little warrior is Finlay from our Beautiful Butterfly playroom, Finlay was born with a very rare condition called Poland Syndrome, which causes missing or underdeveloped muscles on one side of the body. From birth Finlay has undergone many forms of treatment which has included major operations. Finlay is the happiest little guy and takes everything in his stride, we have so much admiration for Finlay.
Both children’s parents have been an absolute tower of strength supporting their little ones through their visits to the hospital and treatments, they are so lucky to have such amazing families. I thank them both for allowing me to share their journey.
From the week commencing 14th August we are planning a huge fund-raising week within the nursery to raise funds for this fantastic charity and hospital in honour of both children Fearne and Finlay.
We would like to begin our fund raising by asking local businesses if they are able to, to donate any raffle or tombola prizes, no matter how big or small, they would be greatly appreciated. In return we will advertise all businesses on our social media platform and on our in-house app.
We will be forever proud of Fearne and Finlay and support them and their families in their journey and I hope we can make this fundraising week a massive success for them both while making a huge difference to the hospital.“
We thank you in advance for any donations, if you are able to donate please comment below or private message The Crossbasket Nursery page and they will arrange collection as soon as possible.
