Exclusive: Wee Gurkha Curry House Opening

Wee Gurkha Curry House is delighted to share its plans for its move to Blantyre.

Renovations are almost complete and preparations are underway to move the successful business to the former Cornerstone Public House, High Blantyre.

Owners, Mohan and Lorraine explained “We’re very close now to opening and so excited about our move. We love the renovations and changes we’ve made to the premises. It has taken a lot of hard work to get to this point and we’d like to thank all the companies who have worked on this project for us.”

Ahead of their launch, there will be a soft opening for the couple’s own friends and family and then a special evening is planned too for Blantyre businesses & organisations to come along and sample some of the dishes. Blantyre Telegraph readers will have an opportunity to enter a prize draw to be there for this special night and more details will follow soon.

Initially, the restaurant will open for sit-in service and tables should be booked in advance. The process for booking will be communicated shortly. Booking in advance gives the restaurant time to adjust to the new premises and make sure everything from equipment, the restaurant environment, the menu and service are all as they should be.

Mohan told us, ‘The last thing we want is to open, be overwhelmed and let our customers down. We know with the interest shown so far, there are many people looking forward to our opening and we’re so grateful for that. We really want all customers to have a great experience when they visit us.’

The restaurant will not be taking walk-ins during the opening weeks so they are able to plan appropriately with what they anticipate will be great demand. Once they’re confident all is as it should be and staff are fully up to speed, restaurant walk-ins followed by takeaway service will be introduced gradually.

All the Wee Gurkha Team already feels so welcome as the restaurant has had so many well wishes and good luck messages. Lorraine added ‘We look forward to opening our doors and serving customers soon. We can’t wait to show people what we’ve done with the place.’
