Over 200 New Homes Approved in Newton Farm, Scotland

Taylor Wimpey West Scotland has secured planning permission for over 200 new homes, marking the completion of the Newton Farm masterplan in Cambuslang.

Situated within a South Lanarkshire Council Community Growth Area, Newton Farm’s first phase of development began in 2007. Planning Permission in Principle for Phase 2 was granted in 2014, and last year, Taylor Wimpey West Scotland submitted a detailed application for the final phase, which will deliver 206 two, three, and four-bedroom homes. Located off Harvester Avenue, this phase will feature a mix of Taylor Wimpey’s existing house styles alongside a new range of homes the developer plans to introduce in Scotland.

The masterplan includes two new primary schools, affordable housing in line with Taylor Wimpey’s Section 75 obligations, local community and sports facilities, extensive green spaces and corridors, playparks, cycleways, a newly-approved retail area, and substantial transport infrastructure. Additionally, the project will contribute to upgrades along the River Clyde Walkway and has been part of the reason that the new Blantyre Farm Road roundabout is being constructed.
