Young Farmers Join Red Hot Chilli Pipers to Light Up Maggie’s Lanarkshire Noel Lunch

Maggie’s Lanarkshire welcomed supporters from across the Lanarkshire area to its annual Christmas Noel Lunch, bringing festive cheer, community spirit, and unforgettable entertainment to Crossbasket Castle on the 28th of November 2025. One of the standout moments of the afternoon came when members of the Carluke Young Farmers joined the world‑renowned Red Hot Chilli Pipers on the dance floor, creating a lively and heart‑warming highlight for guests.

Organised by Maggie’s Lanarkshire, the Noel Lunch is one of the centre’s key fundraising events of the year. Guests enjoyed a festive meal, live entertainment from the fabulous Edward Reid, a Diamond raffle Draw; courtesy of Ian Gallacher Jewellers, a Live Auction hosted by the incredible Natasha Raskin Sharp, and the chance to celebrate the vital work Maggie’s Lanarkshire provides for people living with cancer and their families.

Thanks to the generosity of attendees, sponsors, and supporters, the event raised £70,000, helping Maggie’s continue to offer free emotional, practical, and psychological support to anyone affected by cancer across Lanarkshire.Lorrie Cameron, Centre Head at Maggie’s Lanarkshire, said: “We’re very grateful to The Carluke Young Farmers for choosing to support Maggie’s at our annual Noel Lunch event at Crossbasket this year. Seeing the Young Farmers up dancing with the Red Hot Chilli Pipers brought such joy to the room. Their energy and enthusiasm lifted everyone’s spirits, and we’re so grateful for their continued support of Maggie’s.”

The Young Farmers’ enthusiastic participation added a joyful energy to the afternoon, reflecting the strong community support that Maggie’s Lanarkshire continues to receive year after year.

“Myself and our club secretary both have had people in our family’s that have been affected by cancer and so we thought Maggies Lanarkshire ticked all the boxes as our chosen charity for the year. We thought that choosing a local charity would be the right choice as we can see the money getting put back into the local community. So this is why we chose Maggie’s. – Nathan Parlett (Club Chairman)

The atmosphere was incredible all day — the venue was packed with everyone getting behind such an important charity! As Highland Dancers we used to performing to the Red Hot Chilli Pipers albums so getting the chance to dance live with the band themselves was an unbelievable experience! – Joanne Hall

Next for the Carluke Young Farmers Dance Troupe is our annual concert in January at the Lanark Memorial Hall and  practices are already well underway. We’ve had a brilliant programme of fundraising throughout the year from multiple raffles, charity quizzes and even a 24 hour cycle all to support the vital work Maggie’s does. We can’t wait to keep the momentum going with again another raffle at our concert in January. – Mhairi Hall
