SP Energy Networks are investing in the Glasgow and Lanarkshire area by delivering a number of projects to provide greater network capacity and resilience.
One of the first projects is right here in Blantyre. Contractors will be setting up at Callaghan Wynd, just off Bardykes Road on 27th April 2026.
Work will take approximately 4 weeks and will involve the upgrading of cables and substations in this area and beyond to enable an electric future for cars, buses and digital services.
For the duration of the works, there will be traffic management in place with some expetced disruption in the housing estate. However, access to residents driveways for parking will be maintained and Residents electricity supply will NOT be affected during this necessary work.
