With Bonfire Night tomorrow, Thursday 5th November, here’s a fantastic alternative for dog owners whose pets become frightened or distressed by loud fireworks.
The popular Nae Fireworks Night is returning to nearby Whitelee Windfarm near Eaglesham, offering a quieter place for dogs and their owners to enjoy an evening walk away from the usual bangs and explosions. Away from towns and cities.
A chance to meet with other pet owners, and why not have a coffee or tea at the cafe.
Best of all, the event is completely FREE! ❤️🐾
📍 Where: Whitelee Windfarm Visitor Centre, Moor Road, Eaglesham, G760QQ
📅 When: Thursday 5th November 2026
🕠 Time: 5.30pm – 10pm
🐕 Guided dog walk: 7pm – 8pm, covering approximately two miles.
☕ Visitor Centre: Open until 9pm, with café service until 8.30pm. Well-behaved dogs are welcome!
🚗 Parking: Available from 5pm, with a one-way traffic system in operation.
Organised by Whitelee Countryside Rangers, the event aims to provide a peaceful environment for dogs who struggle with fireworks.
Although fireworks are strictly prohibited at Whitelee, organisers advise that very distant fireworks may still be heard, so all dogs should be kept on leads.
A thoughtful initiative that could make a real difference to pets and their owners this Bonfire Night.
❤️ Does your dog get frightened by fireworks? Would an event like this help your four-legged friend?
