Today, Sunday 8th November 2026, the people of Blantyre will come together to remember and honour the brave men and women who gave their lives in war and conflict.
Our town’s annual Remembrance Sunday Service takes place at 3pm at the War Memorial in High Blantyre Cemetery, where residents, families and local organisations will gather to pay their respects.
Remembrance Sunday is an important occasion for our community. It is a time to reflect on the courage and sacrifice of those who served, remember loved ones who never returned home and ensure their stories are passed on to future generations.

Following the service, everyone is welcome to enjoy teas and coffees at High Blantyre Hall on Cemetery Road, kindly arranged by Blantyre Community Council.
❤️ As in previous years, Blantyre Telegraph has arranged a wreath on behalf of everyone in our community, joining the many local organisations laying tributes in remembrance of the fallen.
All residents are warmly invited to attend, whether to remember a family member, show their appreciation or simply stand alongside their neighbours in a moment of reflection.
Their courage gave us hope. Their sacrifice gave us tomorrow. We will remember them.
