Summer Solstice

It’s the Summer Solstice. The days are lighter for longest time of the year.

The solstice always occurs between 20 and 22 June, and during a leap year (such as 2024) it always falls on 20 June. For some it marks the start of summer and looking forward to warmer days. For others, a celebration at dawn, but it’s really an astrological date.

As we enjoy these lighter nights, we should be making the most of it. We’re now heading past the tipping point where, it will from tomorrow start to get darker ever so slightly earlier. However, there’s still months of summer left to enjoy, and as the school holidays kick in next week, we’re all looking forward to the arrival of warmer and sunnier times.
