This afternoon’s darker skies have brought strong winds and heavy rain expected to continue into the evening. The Met Office has issued a weather warning for Monday, alerting about potential flooding, difficult driving conditions, and possible disruptions to train and bus services, with a chance of power cuts and damage from severe weather.
The M8 is partially closed due to flooding, causing significant travel disruption on the busy motorway. Traffic Scotland reports that lane two of the westbound off-slip at Junction 25A to Braehead is closed on Friday morning.

Take care out on the roads tonight. Many parts of Lanarkshire are flooded after todays heavy rainfall. Roads around Blantyre are quite bad, though still passable. Blantyre Ferme Road is flooded. The River Clyde has also burst its banks.
Please be aware the lower roads in Blantyre Industrial Estate are flooded. This follows yesterday’s heavy rainfall and may still be problematic this morning, Wednesday 11 December 2019. Alternative routes and parking is available but this looks like it will affect the entrances of some of the factories.
